1. The Reserve Bank of India Occasional Papers (RBIOP) is the official research journal of the Reserve Bank of India, which provides a forum for publication of research work done by the RBI Staff, independently and/or in collaboration with independent researchers outside the Bank.
2. The journal is dedicated to publishing peer-reviewed, high-quality, analytical and empirical research work on a broad range of issues of interest to a large audience, including policymakers and academics.
3. The publication reflects the views of the authors.
4. It was published once in four months and carries research papers presented by the staff of the Reserve Bank.
5. It is published thrice a year from 1999 onwards.
6. As of now, the journal is published bi-annually as an open-access journal on the Bank’s website.

1. The RBI Working Papers series (RBIWPS), introduced in March 2011, presents research in progress of the staff members of RBI and at times also those of external co-authors when the research is jointly undertaken. These papers are peer reviewed and are disseminated to elicit feedback and comments from informed researchers and further debate.

## Department of Statistics & Information Management
1. They maintain the Reserve Bank’s Data Warehouse and disseminating data/information, and bring out Reserve Bank’s data publications directly from the data warehouse.
2. It also conducts forward looking surveys, generates forecasts of macroeconomic variables for supporting monetary policy making. The department is also providing statistical support to other functions of the Bank.
3. The [department](Department of Statistics and Information Management) is based out of BKC, Mumbai.
4. 2022 - RBI launched next generation data warehouse, i.e., the Centralised Information Management System (CIMS), on the Statistics Day Conference. Several new features[^1] were introduced in the new system[^2]
5. 29th of June every year has been designated as the "Statistics Day" coinciding with the birth anniversary of Prof. Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis. Prof. Mahalanobis was the founder director of the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI).
6. The year 2013 added significance for statistics as it was declared as the International Year of Statistics.
