Periodic Labour Force Survey ([PLFS](https://www.mospi.gov.in/themes/product/69-periodic-labour-force-survey-plfs#dashboard)) is the primary source of data on employment and unemployment situation of the country. 2. It estimated various labour market indicators like Labour Force Participation Rate (LFPR), Worker Population Ratio (WPR) and Unemployment Rate (UR), etc. 3. It is conducted by the National Statistical Office (NSO) under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI). 4. Unemployment rate (PLFS:Urban) 4. Other indicators are: 1. Naukri JobSpeak Index - It is created and published by Info Edge (India) Limited, the parent company of Naukri.com. 2. PMI Employment: Manufacturing, *compiled by S&P Global and sponsored by HSBC.* 3. PMI Employment: Services, *compiled by S&P Global and sponsored by HSBC*. 5. It was launched in April 2017. 6. It is released on monthly (from Jan 2025), quarterly and annual basis. 1. When a Quarterly Bulletin (July–September) reports an unemployment rate (UR) on a CWS basis, it captures the percentage of the active labor force that was unemployed in an average week during that 3-month quarter. 7. LFPR measures everyone who wants to work (employed + unemployed).
