Here is a list of activities by RBI on Financial Literacy (CFL) and awareness on various topics. It can be regarded as subset of financial inclusion activities by RBI.
1. National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE)
1. 2013 - The National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE) was setup in 2013 with support from all the financial sector regulators i.e., RBI, SEBI, IRDAI and PFRDA for implementation of the National Strategy for Financial Education (NSFE).
2. It functions under the aegis of the Technical Group on Financial Inclusion and Financial Literacy (TGFIFL) of the sub-committee of the FSDC (Financial Stability and Development Council).
3. 2018 - NCFE is now a section 8 (Not for Profit) Company, incorporated on September 05, 2018.
2. Financial Literacy Week (FLW)
1. 2016 - The Reserve Bank has been conducting Financial Literacy Week (FLW) annually every year since 2016 to promote financial literacy
3. Centre for Financial Literacy (CFL)
1. The CFL pilot project on financial literacy was initiated by the Reserve Bank in 2017 in nine states across 80 blocks in collaboration with eight sponsor banks and six non-governmental organisations (NGOs) for a three-year period, with funding support from Financial Inclusion Fund (FIF) of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and the respective sponsor banks.
2. The CFL project was scaled up in a phased manner to cover the entire country by 2024 with each CFL covering about three blocks.
3. As on March 31, 2025, a total of 2,421 CFLs3 have been operationalised across the country. The financial literacy camps conducted by these CFLs aim to achieve certain end-outcomes such as opening/reactivation of bank

1. The Reserve Bank has a [sub-site](https://rbi.org.in/commonman/English/scripts/commpan3.aspx#:~:text=PDF%20file%20format.-,RBI%20Website,-The%20Reserve%20Bank) each for the common person and for financial education. The common person's site publishes information that a bank customer can use, such as, RBI regulations for banks, foreign exchange and currency issues, lending rates, service charges, courier and postal charges, bank branches offering RTGS, NEFT, EFT facilities, etc.
2. The financial education site is aimed at promoting financial literacy among the common person who could be bank customer or a non-customer, children, senior citizen, defence personnel, small industry or a user of foreign exchange.
3. Both the sites are available in 13 languages including Hindi and English and are regularly updated.
7. RBI also conducts Financial Literacy and Public Awareness Campaign at various locations (which can be found from "Tenders" section) like bus queue shelters, railway announcement systems, schools and through booklets, films, games, quiz, TV, Radio, social media posts, etc.
8. Electronic Banking Awareness and Training (e-BAAT)
1. They are nationwide initiatives aimed at educating the public on safe digital banking, cyber security, and fraud prevention.
2. It is conducted through its regional offices to create awareness about digital payments like UPI123Pay, IMPS, NEFT, etc, safe practices while using digital payment products, customer protection, frauds and risk mitigation , grievance redressal mechanisms etc., and target audience includes rural area population.
3. RBI has been conducting these programs since 2012. More than 1800 such programs have been conducted in the last 8 years since 2024-25.
